The Amgen Tour of California is America’s premier cycling race, attracting the same world-class cyclists that compete in the elite European races, including the Tour de France. Entering its seventh running, the Amgen Tour of California has a growing fan base and is followed by national and international audiences.

Sonora has been invited to be part of the tour by hosting the “Stage 4” Start. This exciting opportunity will provide a platform for Sonora to showcase our gorgeous scenery, great local businesses and wonderful community.

The 2011 Amgen Tour of California attracted a tremendous amount of media and spectator attention: more than 2 million spectators; 27 hours of race coverage broadcast by VERSUS; an excess of 3.5 billion media impressions worldwide through print, TV, radio and advertising; 1.1 million unique visitors to the official Amgen Tour of California website; and more than 1,000 riders, team personnel, media and event staff in the Tour entourage.

Local Supporter Opportunities

Local supporter opportunities are now available to you. Packages include exhibitor space, signage, special VIP hospitality/viewing options, print ads in the official Sonora Publications, logo placement on street banners, posters, and flyers, local media visibility, prominent local and national presence, ancillary events, etc.

The Sonora Local Organizing Committee has compiled a variety of supporter levels to allow your small business or large company and individual fans to participate and enjoy the benefits of this exciting international event taking place in our community.
